FINANCIAL MATTERS IN THE FAMILY

 The need to make ends meet makes money a very important issue in the family. This is especially so when there are pressing needs to handle. Needs such as school fees, rent, food, utility bills, etc can put pressure on a family. Unless one is walking closely with the Lord, financial constraints can lead to frustration, discouragement and bitterness in some people. It’s very important that a couple resist the temptation to blame one another when the going gets tough. There are men who begin to attack their wives especially when they are not employed saying they are contributing nothing to the family.

 Some women also do the same thing by not giving their husbands peace because there isn’t enough money to meet the needs of the family. If the wife or husband has not yet got a regular job or business to do, there is no need for the husband or the wife to attack the partner. Of course there is no excuse for an able bodied husband to sit doing nothing to better his lot, when actually his efforts could have made a difference. Perhaps you are experiencing such a situation now. The following tips can help you come out:

1. Turn to God in prayer and by faith ask Him to help you out.
2. Honor God with every income you now have. The biggest mistake one can make is to fail to tithe because there is a financial crisis. Anyone who does not honor God with their income because what they have is not enough cannot have a financial breakthrough in their lives.

The best thing to do is to honor God by giving Him His portion then He can handle whatever challenges, you have. God is faithful with his word. I have gone through situations where by I need money urgently. Yet because I sow financial seeds and pay my tithe faithfully, I have seen God intervene on time to release the finances required.

3. Know that every blessing that comes in the family is for both of you and family. Don’t individualize the money you get as a working husband or wife by telling your partner that “This is my money. I will use it the way I want.” Sit down together as husband and wife and budget together giving priority where it is due.

4. Where it happens that there are satanic influences through curses meant to hinder you from having the best out of life in spite of much effort that you are making, seek deliverance prayer from ministers who are called in that area.

5. Walk in righteousness and that is why Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, that we should seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and everything will be added unto you.

6. Asks God for wisdom to get wealth for He is the One who gives people the power to make wealth (Deut 8:18).

7. Walk in love. If you do not love your partner or family members because things are difficult God cannot easily work with you. Know that God only operates and blesses His people when they stand on the foundation of love.

If you follow these tips, then you are bound to see change whether the devil wants it or not. Perhaps you are still not connected to God personally. Yet you have to know God personally in order to call upon Him with confidence on behalf of yourself and family. You do that through putting your faith in Jesus Christ. He said in John 14:6, that He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through Him.

If you are ready to give your life to Christ now, please say this prayer of commitment:

Dear Jesus, I come to you as a sinner. Forgive my sins. I repent of them. Right now, I invite you into my life as my Lord and saviour. I surrender my life, family and every burden to you. Help me live according to your plan. Amen.

Call upon God with confidence using the name of Jesus.

Find a good bible based Church near you where you can learn and grow spiritually. Do all that needs to be done for yourself and family and God will play His part to bring the desired change in your life. May God bless you.
