Who Are You Listening To?

Who Are You Listening To?

John 10:27 NIV
“[27] My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. “

To follow is to go or come after a person or thing proceeding ahead.

When we were growing up as children, we learnt a lot by listening to those around us and doing what we saw them do. In other words, we learnt life from others.

Yet life is a journey. Whether you are young or old there is someone or something you are following because you heard someone say something about that.

In our text above, Jesus is saying that his sheep listens to his voice and follow him.
I want you to picture a sheep. You will realize that a sheep is a very vulnerable animal. Their survival really depends on the shepherd who leads them out for food and water. He treats them when they are sick. He also defends and protects them from predators.

How true that picture is when compared to human life on earth. Human life is vulnerable at all stages of life’s journey.

In the middle east of Jesus’ time, shepherds called their sheeps by name and went a head of them.
They listen to his voice and follow him. The sheep listens to him every day.

Who are you listening to? Where are you ending?

God is our shepherd (Ps 23:1). He speaks to us through his Son Jesus (Heb 1:1-2). If you already know Jesus, are you listening to him?

If you don’t know him, you can enter a relationship with him through a simple prayer of commitment here bellow:

Dear Jesus, I come to you as a sinner. I repent of my sins. Right now, I invite you to come into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. Help me know you. Amen.

Begin to learn his voice by reading the bible. Start from the gospel of John.

If you said that prayer from your heart, you are saved by grace through faith in Jesus’ Christ (Eph 2:8).
